About us

Building a joyful world for every chinchilla.

Chinchilla Guide is a community-driven resource hub connecting chinchilla guardians, rescues, and exotic veterinarians with the knowledge and support they need to provide exceptional care.

Our mission

Why we exist

Chinchillas are extraordinary animals with lifespans of 15-20 years, requiring specialized care that many new guardians aren't prepared for. Too often, these delicate creatures end up in rescues due to misunderstandings about their needs.

We created Chinchilla Guide to bridge the knowledge gap. Our mission is to:

  • Educate current and prospective chinchilla guardians with science-backed care guides
  • Support rescue organizations with operational resources and visibility
  • Connect the chinchilla community through events, mentorship, and shared knowledge
  • Advocate for the welfare of chinchillas through proper husbandry standards
